Our Mission

At the heart of our mission is a powerful truth, nothing can stop a mother from protecting her children.

Our comprehensive understanding of the challenges that Protective Moms face in Family Court has provided us with a unique perspective and inspiration to drive impactful, systemic change. Our unwavering dedication to improving the Family Court system for Protective Moms and children underpins all of our initiatives.

The systemic failures of Family Court are causing irreparable harm to Protective Moms and their children. Current research shows that mothers are disproportionately losing custody when they raise concerns regarding abuse in Family Court. As a result of punitive and dangerous Court orders children are being placed in harmful, and sometimes deadly situations with their abusive parent.

Family Courts are ill-equipped to handle the complexities associated with domestic abuse and protracted child custody litigation. The time has come for New Jersey's Family Court system to adopt a comprehensive, trauma informed, and research based approach.
